The Character DNA Builder helps you create memorable comedy characters by identifying their flaws, wants, fears, habits, contradictions, blind spots, and repeatable behaviors.

When To Use It

Use this tool when you are building a recurring character, developing a stage persona, strengthening storytelling material, or trying to figure out why a character is funny beyond one punchline.

How To Use It

  1. Enter a character name or type.
  2. Add a short character description.
  3. Select the character's world.
  4. Select the character's comedy function.
  5. Choose the tone that fits the material.
  6. Click Build Character DNA.
  7. Look for contradictions, flaws, and repeatable traits that can become jokes or callbacks.

Example Input

Character: Grandpa.
Description: A retired rancher who does not trust modern technology but secretly wants to look smart using it.
Comedy Function: The Old-School Traditionalist.

Example Output
